Last week, Epsom Sand & Soil delivered a unique blend of soil to the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion, ready for the arrival of a very special sapling from Sri Lanka.
The first Authenticated Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi Sapling for Australia, a direct descendant of the Bodhi Tree under which Lord Buddha attained Enlightenment, is set to be planted within the grounds of the Great Stupa.
The State of Sri Lanka has generously gifted the sapling of the Bodhi Tree, which will provide a focus point of spiritualisation to the Australian Buddhist community.
The sapling horticulturists gave Epsom Sand & Soil a ‘recipe’ for the sapling soil, which included a blend of ‘mountain soil’ and our locally sourced soils.
Then, we were entrusted to deliver the meticulous mix to ensure the tree’s ongoing health through replanting and growth over the coming years.
