HOW TO LAY GARDEN PAVERS

Laying garden pavers is a lot easier than it sounds. The first step is to dig out the area where your garden pavers will go. You want to dig out just enough so that you can lay them flat, but not any deeper than that.

It’s important to have a base that’s flat and level so the pavers don’t tip or get unevenly spaced when they’re laid on top of it.

Construct a base using compacted Crushed Rock/Roadbase or Crusher Dust and top with about 25 mm of paving sand.

Then tamp down with a plate compactor until it feels firm.

Now lay your pavers: start at one end of your path and work toward other end by placing one paver beside another with an even gap between each one (this creates gaps between joints which allow air flow).

Finally compact these newly laid pavers by tapping lightly all around each piece using a rubber mallet until flush against neighbouring ones; continue doing this until entire surface has been compacted well enough.

A product called Pavlock can then be swept in between the pavers. To set them in place with a sprinkle of water. Pavlock can be found at a local hardware store.
